Relating Intel CPU Generations and Various Models across different Nutanix Platforms

By | April 28, 2020

In case you are in the same situation as me, trying to match across an expanding list of hardware qualified to run Nutanix and which CPU generations they contain, here’s a table I put together. It’s not a complete list, but it’s a start with the most common models I have personally encountered. Happy to add on others if there are interests, let me know in the comments below.

For official details on the various Hardware Platforms, you may refer to the Nutanix Dynamic Specsheet.

HaswellE5-xxxx v3G4nilnilnil

Cascade LakePlatinum 82xx

  • There were no NX models officially labelled with G3 in the model number, e.g. NX-3050, NX-1050. We use the term “G3” as an easy way to describe the generation just before G4.
  • Only OEM models are included.
  • Other non-appliance but supported models are excluded in the table.
